The world is growing at fast pace, be it the field of technology or field of economic developments or otherwise and hence India. This fast growth in technology has handed over some really innovative ways and techniques to the scientists across the globe, which has led to the extraordinary turn around of the life standard of human being on the earth from ancient age.

These days, only you need to dream of something and in less than no time to few hours, it shall be in your reach. whether its be flying in air, travelling on high speed trains, relishing world round cuisine, living in different cities across the globe, even turning to space or any thing otherwise, Nothing has been left improbable.

All these fortunes which were rarely imagined before some years only, has become a fact of child’s play in today’s world. Unanimously the credit goes to the scietific community across the globe, Their incessant endeavour and selfless inspiration to soothe human life is the secret behind these achievements, but JUST TURN THE COIN FOR A WHILE, and see the exasperating fact- THE ROLE OF WORKERS (LABOUR) in accomplishing these nightmare of the humankind few years back ??

Have you ever envisaged about their contribution to this fastly growing world…Have you..?? 99% people will respond in a negative fashion. Just spare out few minutes from your busy life and contemplate whether it could have been possible to fly like a bird, installations of television in households world wide, Getting your favourite food, riding the cars of your choice only after the primitive scientific developments without the indulging of WORKERS ??

The dark truth is that this particular WORKER COMMUNITY has acted as a bridge between scientific developments and their proper implementation in daily life. If cultivators do not grow edible seeds with the help of proletarians, You could not have had the opportunity to consume foods of your choice anywhere across the globe. You could not have had travelled across the globe flying in the air, You could not have had your own vehicles at your home to travel …if these labours were not there to work in industries.

If their (Workers) contribution is so vast in the uplifting of the society and the world, Then how unrepentant and ungrateful we are to express our gratitude towards their benign contributions ?

How much ruthless we are to identify the hard work of the scarce community ? Why we can not support them who support our life ? Why , why, why… We will have to ponder upon this bizarre fact that those people who have shouldered the responsibility of feeding whole world, why their night passes without food ? Why they are forced to slumber in undesired conditions ? Why their children can not go to schools ? Why they can not afford to dress in a civilised manner ?

Why these 40% people are left aside to think of their life themselves, their children and their ambitions seperately from the rest 60% population ? Why there is no policy for them, why the policymakers dont pay heed to their problems ?? Have these questions rankled your stable mind ? But this is the dark side of Indian federal system where the people who are the recreator, is left aside. Going through the facts has the potential to leave oneself flabbergasted.

The growing size of the proletarian labour force and simultaneous growing ignorance to their rights is the biggest issue of concern. According to latest survey data in India 37.8% population are workers, who are not daily wagers and 40% of the population constitute the wagers, whose life is solely dependent on their daily wages. This 70% -80% population is being exploited severely in every manner, be it working hours, be it the level of payment or other facilities being awarded to them. In 1950, only 12% Indian population consist of daily wagers and in 1990 it was 41%.

This exponential surge in unemployed and underprivileged section of society posses huge problems. To regulate this huge population’s work structure, there is no proper law. The existing labour law is full of flaws. There is no provision of minimum payable salary to these workers. I can not understand the logics behind the fact that after 70 years of independence even, India has not sorted out the issue of its core population, have not realised the potential of this hard working section of population.

Why any government ruling over the heft did not take the steps to address the cause behind their calamity ? Perhaps because these people are not taxpayers, these people are not the arguing ones, these people are not empowered with the modern sources where they can raise their voice. The sort of exasperation and clamour of unsatisfied lives is nothing but the result of the ignorance and unwillingness of the people living in the nation and in the power to sing the eulogy of true India. Why do they forget that the true soul of ‘BHARAT MATA’ resides in villages of the country, Where 90 percent of this labour forces reside. After all when we will wake up and support this silent movement, when we will add voice to the low decibels demands, who have lost their hopes and waiting for a Messiah to turn around their fortunes ? Can we become this Messiah after a 70 year long hiatus ? Can we fight for the rights of labour on the International labour day ?

Government must fix the minimum payable salary to the workers, implement a regulated structure of their work hours, Provide necessary amenities to the proletarians at work place and prevent the heavy and pitiable exploitation of the two third of population of the nation by heavyweights, so that the idea of Incredible India can be realised in true sense, so that the number expressing the growth of the nation like GDP and Economic growth get significant meaning, so that idea of Mr. Gandhi and Mr. Ambedkar can be lived to.

labour movements in india are suppressed by police action and their clamors are scuttled. Workers of Honda India are protesting for meagre fee hike.

World wide movement on labour reform has led to the implementation of 8 hour working time, 8 hour recreation and 8 hour of rest in many a countries. India need to strongly look into the matter and sincerely ponder upon conspicuous pathetic conditions of workers, Daily wagers, Labours and other underprivileged sections of the society, who do not have access to even the basic necessities of life.

Despite of pushing the personal ambitions and backing the demands of the well wishers of theirs, Government at centre and state must emphasise on reviving the fortunes of this 70%-80% population. Rather than increasing the salaries of representatives of parliament Assembly’s and the heavy weights in the society frequently by 400% to 500%, They must work to ensure that this 80% population did get paid for their work, hence then the India can be empowered.

On the international day for labours, May 1, We must pledge that we will work to bring justice to this vast community of deprived brother’s and sister’s, This is the single medium to celebrate LABOUR DAY, celebrate the contribution of theirs in the MAKING OF INDIA, MAKING OF LIVES. Will the reigns at different federal level, who have deep aspirations to successfuly employ MAKE IN INDIA to address the grievances in the direction of MAKING OF LIVES, wake up from deep slumber and throw off their political rivalry with the oppositions, which have proved to be a hurdle in bringing reforms before it becomes too late to turn around the fortunes of the people of the country and also the fortunes of themselves in the direction of MAKING OF LIVES ??
